Stay In The Race

By Joel LeGurre

In life, we sometimes set goals for ourselves with such vigor and confidence. In most cases we tend to keep up all of this positive energy early on. Some of us will make it through, accomplishing every or most of the goals that we’ve set. We may feel tired, but a sense of success easily overshadows the exhaustion…we did it!

Then there’s the rest of us who started off sprinting ahead but somewhere along the way, that drive and excitement was lost. The goals that we were once so determined to accomplish are edited or sometimes postponed. Instead of throwing in the towel, find ways to motivate yourself to push through the finish line and finish the year strong. Here are four tips to help you finish strong:

Surround yourself with people who motivate. They will keep you encouraged and inspired to continue pursuing your goals.

Stay focused on the big picture. Remember what awaits you at the end of the road and think about the return on the investment.

Reflect on a time when you were able to accomplish one of your goals and how happy or excited that made you feel.

Stay positive! Stay excited about your goals. This can assist during those times of doubt.

Things may not always go according to plan but that doesn't mean that you have to cancel the plan. Some self motivating and a few alterations if necessary can put you back in the race. So stay encouraged, stay focused, stay excited and most important, finish the year strong. Remember…you have to be in it to win it!
